Our Commitment To Safeguarding
At Secure Horizon, safeguarding is not an add-on – it’s built into everything we do. Many of the people we support are victims of crime, living with vulnerabilities, or returning home after hospital. Their safety, dignity and wellbeing always come first.
Our Safeguarding Commitments
- Every staff member trained and vetted - all colleagues are DBS-checked and complete mandatory safeguarding, equality & diversity, and health & safety training.
- Spotting and acting on concerns - our teams are trained to recognise signs of abuse, neglect or exploitation and follow clear escalation procedures with local safeguarding authorities.
- Respectful, trauma-aware delivery - we work sensitively in residents’ homes, taking time to explain, reassure and support, particularly when people are anxious or vulnerable.
- Robust policies and governance - our safeguarding policy is reviewed annually, aligned with Care Act 2014 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, and available to commissioners on request.
- Balancing safety with independence - we involve residents in decisions wherever possible, ensuring that upgrades and adaptations support their autonomy as well as their security.
Safeguarding is part of the reason partners trust us – it gives confidence that services are delivered responsibly, compliantly, and with compassion for the people who matter most.
